Thus says the Lord,
'Stand by the ways and SEE and Ask for the
Ancient Paths, Where the good way is, and
WALK IN IT;
and you will find rest for your souls.

Living Bread International is a NGO (non-governmental organization) based in Jerusalem headed by Director Karen Dunham. The ministry presently has staff in Jericho, Bethlehem, Beersheva and operating in Hebron. It is a friend of Israel and the Palestinians and stays out of politics focused on reaching the poor with education and aid. You are invited to visit us in the Good Land flowing with milk and honey.
Living Bread Church in Jericho has an ongoing weekly service birthed a couple years ago through much tribulation and trials. A growing congregation comes from all the camps and the city to hear a weekly message from the Gospel. It is amazing what God does by His Spirit.
There are 27 refugee camps in Israel and the west bank areas and much work is needed in this area. By taking aid, clothing, jobs, education, and a kind word to these in the camps, anger can be transformed into lives filled with joy and hope. Living Bread volunteers flow in the Gifts of the Spirit with which we fight hate with love, religion with God's truth, sadness with joy and war with peace. . Drive by visits into the poor areas of the camps. One of our favorite projects is loading the rental van with boxes of aid, baby milk, along with educational materials and driving into areas of the camp not yet touched. Most of the time we are greeted warmly as we work in fields not plowed, with gifts of love and truth. We are also given opportunities to pray for the poor.
"Rebuilding the Ruins" is a program teaching skills to the unemployed to repair plumb, wire, and paint refugee homes. We encourage tour groups to come and spend a day or two laboring among us with hands on projects. This project is operating in Jericho and just launched in Bethlehem.
Living Bread also has a project-in-the birthing in southern Hebron reaching out to the Moabite Cave Dwellers. They are in need of a local water supply and a schoolhouse for the children. It is a seven-hour walk for the children to the nearest school. The IDF in Hebron asked that we go to this region and give them help. There are an estimated 3000 people in this area that are in need of immediate attention. During an outreach, one recipient said, 'Give others the clothes, just give me the books!' We know this is an open door for educating in the Truth.
Seeing the disabled cared for and living productive lives is a special nterest at Living Bread. We are in partnership with Kfar Rafael severely handicapped near Beersheba. Among other projects, they produce olive oil which we market internationally as anointing oil.
The funds are used for much-needed building renovations in the village and paying for fuel to bring in ships of aid for the Palestinian poor. It is amazing what the Lord will do with just a little. We hope to learn from Kfar Rafael and teach disabled and handicapped Palestinians to work with us in a future project base in Hebron.

Genesis 21
God heard the lad crying
and the angel of the Lord called to Hagar from heaven and said
to her, 'What is the matter with you Hagar? Do not fear,
for God has heard the lad where he is.'
Lets reach out to our brothers...
You can help too by prayers, funding, worship and service. |
